Basically, my head is about to explode. I can't articulate why. I don't even know if I know why. That's not true- I have a million things to think about, to plan, to research and on top of all that, now I need to find a job. But it's like a computer trying to intercept a million messages all at once: error.
What do I do when I can't think? Wander.
So we left. My friend Maone and I hopped in my car and took off down the PCH.
First stop: El Matador State Beach
There is something so fantastically refreshing about the ocean breeze, and this day was no exception. It was like I could finally breathe again. Our sandy bare feet took us down the path, across the beach and through the caves. I think this beach fascinates me because it's almost as if it's never ending. You crouch down, and inch your way through one cave tunnel, only to emerge onto another cliff flanked, picture perfect beach. And another, and another.
Plus I'm a total water baby - I could sit here and watch the tides roll in, wade in the white wash, or explore the tide pools all day long.
This is where I come to lose myself; to be a kid again with zero responsibilities.
We continued our roadtrip to Ventura, where we explored the shops on Main St. We scoured Dexter's Camera shop in search of film, and perused the endless shelfs of antique and vintage cameras.
All in all, it was successful 12 hours out of the city - only to high-tail it back for Air + Style in DTLA the next day. But that was worth it, too. Ståle Sandbech and J. Cole in one day? Yes, please.
Oh, Ståle.
