The first snow of the season on the Mt. High Summit brought myself, and two other friends up into the mountains of the Angeles National Forest.
The conditions on the mountain weren't the best. The slopes were icy, with little to no visibility, but our flasks were full and we were eager to get in a few good runs.
In trying to keep up with the boys, I got a little too cocky. I tried my first jump! Which I landed, surprisingly. My second attempt, however, was not so successful. I ended up over-shooting the jump, landing weird causing my knee's to buckle. I "accordioned", kneeing myself rather hard in the chin, busting open my bottom lip. Thankfully, I didn't need stitches, but I did sit the next few runs out.
We cut the day short due to my injury and the worsening conditions. On the ride home the sky was aflame, lighting the wispy clouds that hung over the mountains. We veered off the beaten path and found some empty, backroads that lent themselves to my first automobile photography experience.
I'm ready to go again!
